“Why would I need coaching when I can do it by myself?”
A good question. You can, and probably do, achieve things all the time by your own efforts - and long may you continue to do so. You may also recognise that as daily life puts increasing strain and stress upon us, you don’t get around to doing everything you’d like to, your potential is left unexplored.
Or, it may be that you have lost your direction, somehow our dreams are crushed or forgotten – if only you had the energy, knew where to start,
You may recognise that you need to change – you may not be sure what you do want, but you no longer want things to stay the same.
Allowing a coach to support you gives you the opportunity to rewrite your script, to create your life as you would like it to be. Starting from where you are now, your coach will help you to articulate your direction, and work with you to develop structured ways to achieve your goals.

Life coaching shows you how to use your existing abilities for the benefit of your family and friends, your employer or staff - but most importantly yourself. Benefits include stronger sense of purpose and direction, increased clarity and prioritisation of what 'matters', increased self-esteem, better life/work balance and more fulfilling relationships.

My approach

I see coaching as a form of accelerated self-help. It is not an off-the-shelf success programme, but rather a commitment to yourself, to your progress, empowered and encouraged by a coach who will provide focus and accountability. The idea is to get you moving in the right direction and maintaining momentum, not about getting you addicted to coaching. Many of my clients have only two or three sessions which gives them sufficient impetus to begin the process and sustain life-changing behaviour. Others continue for a considerable period – while setting up a new business for example. Most clients revisit for booster sessions every so often.

From a technical point of view my approach is essentially client-centred and preferably holistic, although I will support purely goal-driven projects. I integrate various techniques from other disciplines where appropriate, including CBT, TA and Brief Therapy, and guided or creative visualisation.

expand your horizons, challenge your limitations, identify your blind spots”

Is coaching for you?
Do you appear to have everything on paper - but still feel that there's something 'missing'?
Do you feel that you have lost your way, and want to get your life back on track or out of a rut?
Do you have a great career, but can't seem to find Mr/Miss Right?
Do you feel that you aren't achieving as much as you would like?
Do you want to spread your wings or follow a dream, but feel time/money/energy restricts you? Do you seem to have recurring problems or a habit you can't quit?
Are you returning to work and/or rebuilding your life after a significant loss (e.g. divorce, redundancy)?
Do you want to achieve a better balance in your life (e.g. family/work)?
Do you want to improve your financial situation?
Do you have lots of plans and ideas, but never get round to implementing them?
Do you want to get back in the driver's seat of your life?

If the answer to any of these questions is "yes", then life coaching could be of real assistance to you.
